Here is an example to show you how to calculate your electricity bill just in 2 minutes…. lets see…
A consumer consumes 1000 watts load per hour daily for one month.Calculate The Total Energy bill of the consumer if per unit rate is 5 rs. [Take 1 month = 30 Days]
1unit = 1kWh. (means load consuming 1kw power in 1 hour)
So Total kWh consumed by load in one day= 1 x 24 = 24kwh
Total kwh consumed by load in month = 24 x 30= 720kwh
We want to convert it into Units,
Where is 1kwh= 1 unit
So total Consumed units in one month= 720/1 = 720 unit
Total Units = 720 unit in one month
Cost of per unit is 5.
So total Cost or bill= 720 x 5 = Rs.3600.
Finally we conclude that if we use the house hold electrical applliance (like freeze, washing machine, cooler, air conditioner,t.v, motor etc) which consumes 1000 watt power in one hour continuously for 30 days then our electricity bill will be Rs 3600.
